We fully appreciate the importance of a company’s investment in staff training and team building and we know that every boss who arranges a company away day at an outside venue will wish to deliver an agenda to their staff, for which they will later expect to see results back at the office.

Our aim at Caer Llan is to provide an inspiring and distraction free environment for you to achieve your goals. Aided by the stunning location and spectacular scenery, the old country house has been adapted with this kind of event in mind. We have large versatile areas which can be arranged to suit your particular needs.

Other features include free WiFi, ceiling mount projector and screen, free parking, a proactive eco policy, and great coffee!!

Exclusive Use of Caer Llan

We promise you exclusive use of Caer Llan during your stay, such that you have a large choice of breakout areas outside of the focal training room. Of course the gardens and grounds are also there for you to use if you wish, 25 acres in all.

Caer Llan has 15 en suite bedrooms with room for up to 50 overnight guests, so sharing is necessary for groups of more than 15. Our in-house hospitality team are on hand to supply refreshments and delicious home cooked meals and buffets throughout your time at Caer Llan, and our fully licensed Bar & Piano Lounge is a great social space for the evenings.

We pride ourselves on our professional yet non imposing service. We offer you privacy to conduct your meetings whilst also being available should you need us.

What we do...

At Caer Llan, we cater for a wide range of events including client meetings and conferences, university field courses and school trips, exhibitions and product launches, teaching and learning workshops, AGMs and Christmas parties.

The interior areas are versatile and can be easily configured for board room meetings, team building challenges and theatre style presentations, (complete with ceiling mount projector, and sound system).

If you don’t have a specific agenda but simply want to create a more cohesive work force, then we have close links with several registered team building and training companies who can provide a bespoke program for your needs, be it on site at Caer Llan or off site fun with climbing quad biking, clay pidgeon shooting etc…see our Friends of Caer Llan page

Catering

Simply leave the food and drink to us. We'll serve delicious home cooked meals, hearty breakfasts and plenty of tea and coffee during your stay. Service is generally 'carvery style' although we will happily offer table service as an option.

We don't however take a 'one size fits all approach' and are happy to discuss menu options and room layouts with you to find the best fit for your needs.

An example 24 hour catering package includes bacon rolls on arrival, unlimited tea & coffee throughout your stay, Caer Llan's famous Ploughman's Lunch, a delicious home cooked two-course meal in the evening and a Full English breakfast with a selection of cereal, toast and preserves the following morning.

If you visit Caer Llan, you will meet us, the owners Jake and Vicky Carpenter. We live on site and take a very 'hands on' approach at Caer Llan. We are happy to help you with your planning and take great pride in offering a friendly, professional and discreet service during your stay.

About Us

Meet the people behind Caer Llan...

  • Jake Carpenter  Father, Husband, Owner ...
  • Vicky Carpenter  Mother, Wife, Owner...
  • Jake Carpenter Father, Husband, Owner ...

    Jake grew up at Caer Llan and now he and his wife Vicky run the business and raise their own family there. He has a civil engineering degree and has spent much of his time over the past 25 years developing and renovating the property. He is a proud husband to Vicky and a devoted father to their daughters Charlotte and Georgia. Hobbies include golf, playing pianos and mending things. He has grown up in a hospitality environment and is completely hands on with anything and everything that's required for your special day or event.
  • Vicky Carpenter Mother, Wife, Owner...

    Vicky runs the business with her husband Jake. She has an IT degree and many years of experience in hospitality. She has brought the well needed feminine touch to Caer Llan and is the epitome of the saying, 'service with a smile'. She will be there from the start to help you organise and perfect your event, giving as much or as little input and support as you want / need. Along with her husband Jake, she takes great personal pride in her work and particularly enjoys the moment when a bride walks down the aisle. In her workplace, she creates a calmness in a potentially chaotic environment but is also a much loved Wife and Mum who unselfishly runs the family household, and loves a game of golf when she gets the chance.
