Caer Llan has an 8 acre wood which has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). It has it's own ecosystem of plants and wildlife and is known as the bluebell wood during the spring. It contains a scenic circular walk along with evidence of an ancient millstone quarry. The Tudor lawn around the back of the house can be used for team building activities for example, or even staging a wedding reception for up to 150 people. It is floodlit at night.

The lawn expands into a large patio area alongside the house. This southfacing terrace basks in sunshine and gives the opportunity to appreciate the true beauty of the open countryside. Breath-taking views extend over the Usk Valley, revealing the first range of hills of the South Welsh Valleys, some 23 miles away in the distant background. This patio also provides a wonderful spot for BBQs on summer evenings, or viewing spectacular sunsets during the autumn.
