FAQs: answers to some of your frequently asked questions
Here are a few of the most common 'general' questions we get asked. We are in the process of preparing sections specifically about Celebration, Weddings and Conferences and these will be added shortly. In the mean time, if your question isn't answered here, please contact us.
General questions
Q: Do you have disabled access?
A: The ground-floor communal areas are readily accessible by wheelchair. We have a ground floor disabled access bathroom in the Berm House – please see our 'Facilities Summary' page for more information.
Q: Do you have WiFi?
A: There is free Wifi access in the main house. We have plans to extend this to the Berm House in the near future. We also have a pay-as-you-go Internet access facility in the hallway just off the Function Room.
Accommodation
Q: What time can we arrive and by what time must we depart Caer Llan?
A: Arrival and departure times depend on the nature of your booking. For the majority of weekend residential bookings arrival is from 4pm on the first day unless we agree alternative arrangements. Departure is generally by 12 noon unless lunch has been pre-ordered or another departure time has been agreed.
Q: Do you provide towels?
A: Yes we provide towels and bed-linen.
Do you provide a housekeeping service?
A: We don't, we ask guests to make their own beds in the morning - once a room is occupied we won't enter unless specifically requested to do so e.g if there is a problem with a room.
Q: Do you have cots for young children?
A: We have two cots but ask that parents bring their own cot linen.
Q: Do you have hairdryers in the rooms?
A: Not as yet, but we are planning on installing them in all rooms in the near future.
Q: Can we bring dogs?
A: We allow up to three dogs per party as long as they are well-behaved and their owners take full responsibility for cleanliness and hygiene. Dogs sleep in the Berm House,. we also request that dogs (other than essential assistance dogs) are not present during meal times.
Hospitality
Q: Do you offer self-catering?
A: We're afraid we can't – all our meals and refreshments are prepared in our commercial kitchen. Health & Safety regulations do not permit guest access to the kitchen.
Q: How does the catering work?
A: We do not offer restaurant service, as such, at Caer Llan; we have our own in-house hospitality team to look after you. We ask that the group organiser selects the menu for the group at least two weeks prior to arrival. All meals must be pre-ordered for the whole group. Please see our 'hospitality' pages.
Q; Do you have a bar?
A: Yes – we have a fully-licensed bar that will be staffed according to your requirements offering a choice of real-ales, beers, lagers, wines, spirits, etc…
Q: What time does the bar close?
A: Bar opening and closing times are at your discretion. However to comply with licensing requirements non-residential guests must have left if the bar is to stay open after 1am in the morning.
Q: Do you dining-room facilities for young children?
A: Yes – we have two highchairs. We also offer facilities for parents to heat baby milk and baby food. Please ask for assistance.
